Burke's current signature project is White Sulphur Springs, three miles from downtown Mount Airy on the historic site of the famed turn-of-the-century White Sulphur Springs Hotel.
When the 145-acre property became available, Burke was determined to find a way to keep the rolling hillsides united as one property and the natural resources protected. Burke immediately realized that the only way to achieve this goal was to create a very special residental community. A community that would capture and preserve the spirit of the Simpler life and embrace the abundance and beauty of the land. He named the community after the still flowing mineral springs - White Sulphur Springs.

Prior to that, he was vice president and manager of real estate lending in North and South Carolina for NationsBank, now Bank of America.
He returned to Mount Airy focused on enjoying a simpler lifestyle and serving his community, which imbued him with lasting family-oriented values, and a passion for the scenic outdoors inherent in this mountain area. Burke is a staunch ambassador for the greater Mount Airy community and is personally committed to enhancing its economic potential while preserving its historical integrity and community-focused small-town character.
